Circuit Sales
Our Circuit Sales provide a variety of worldwide stamps at very reasonable prices. We have single stamps, sets, souvenir sheets and larger pieces. Our effort to convert stamps from circuit books to 102 cards is ongoing and has been well received. Canada, Great Britain, and Australia are well represented, as are several other countries. Both members and visitors may buy from our circuits. Payment is made at the time of purchase.
Silent Auction Tables
Our silent auction table, held at each meeting, hosts a wide variety of both stamps and philatelic material. You may find single stamps, complete sets, stamp packets, covers or postal history. The material available reflects the range of our member’s interests. Members or visitors may place bids on any of the items. The Silent Auction end time is announced during the meeting. All items must be paid for at that time.
Our Members
Our club members have a wide range of both collecting interests and experience. Some collect a particular country or countries, others may collect by topic, some collect a particular time period, while still others may take an interest in cancels, covers, postcards or other items of postal history. Some of our members specialize in very particular areas of the hobby.
Visitors
Visitors are always welcome at the Barrie District Stamp Club. We provide a relaxed social setting where people can ask questions, receive guidance and socialize with other collectors. Whatever your type of collection or your level of experience you will find someone you can talk to, who may have just what you have been looking for whether a particular stamp or piece of information. Come visit us, share your interests and see what we have that interests you!
Auction
The club holds an annual auction at our May meeting with a wide range of philatelic material from single stamps to albums. There is always something interesting and we welcome all enthusiasts. Our auction is open to both members and the general public.
Appraisals
The club itself does not actively offer stamp appraisals. We do however, have both stamp dealers and some very knowledgeable collectors among our membership. If you have a collection and require some guidance on it, drop in for a visit and someone will be happy to sit down and chat with you.
**Please note only members are allowed to sell material at club meetings**
